Pecan’s Colour/Mono and TDN cameras feature automatic switching between colour and mono modes for day and night-time viewing.
TDN models, featuring a 'T' in the product code, include an Infra-Red (IR) cut filter that automatically moves into position during daylight hours to provide accurate colour rendition. In low light and night-time conditions the IR filter withdraws to allow the camera to produce high resolution monochrome images.
Our range of weatherproof bullet cameras are fitted with integral IR LEDs which automatically switch on under low light conditions to create high quality image production 24/7.
The switch point from colour to mono is set at approximately 6 Lux to ensure that the quality of the colour picture is not compromised by excessively poor light.
The switch point from mono back to colour is set at approximately 15 Lux which provides a ‘buffer zone’ to prevent the camera from e.g. switching modes when a car’s headlights pass within its field of vision at night.
